The Roman aqueduct, El Puente del Diablo
(Devilsbridge) is situated outside the city at the highway AP-7. It was built
without concrete in the 1e century AD and
'worked' till the middle ages. It's 217 meters long and
the arches are some 27 meter high.
The
city received water from at least 2 aqueducts. The first
one received water
from the Gaià near the Pont d'Armentera and the second from the Francoli river (El Puente
del Diablo).
Since
2000 this aqueduct is on the
UNESCO list.
Below
some pictures taken from out of our coach, below that
some charts/cards.
